Two official stores, one codebase
The Google Play and Apple App Store builds of SportsAdda are produced from the same source repository and ship the same feature set — match centres, alert types, follow-team lists and editorial feeds. Both stores run an independent review on every release; we don't publish a version to one store before the other unless there's a store-specific packaging reason.
Google Play
Search "SportsAdda" in the Play Store or open the official listing at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sportsadda. The Play Store handles updates in the background — install once and you'll get the next release as soon as it ships.
Minimum Android version: Android 9 (API 28). Recommended: Android 12 or newer for the live activity widget and notification grouping.
Apple App Store
Search "SportsAdda" in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, or open the official listing at apps.apple.com/in/app/sportsadda. The app is universal — installs on iPhone and iPad with the same bundle.
Minimum iOS version: iOS 14. iPad split-view and Stage Manager are supported on iPadOS 16 and newer.
Direct APK (sideload)
If you can't reach the Play Store — region lock, no Google services on your device, or a corporate-managed device — the APK is available from our official mirror. We publish the SHA-256 checksum next to every APK so you can verify the file before installing.
Sideloading requires Android's "Install unknown apps" permission for the browser or file manager you use. Toggle it on, install, then toggle it off again.
What happens when you install
The first launch takes you through four steps, and you can skip three of them. The app will not ask for an account to browse scores or read the editorial feed — the only thing the home feed needs to "personalise" is a list of teams, and that list is stored locally on your device unless you sign in to sync it.
Phone number (optional)
The app can run without an account. If you want cross-device sync of your team list, enter a phone number — we send a one-time code, you enter it, done. No password.
Pick your teams
Pick at least one team to make the home feed useful. You can pick more later, and unfollow is one tap from the same screen.
Choose alert types
We don't enable alerts by default. Toggle on wicket, goal, super-raid, or set-point alerts per sport. You can mute everything and only follow via the home feed.
Permissions we request, and what we never touch
SportsAdda is a scores app, so the permission list is short. We publish the full list in the privacy policy and in the in-app settings, but the practical version is: notifications (to deliver alerts), and optional location if you want local-time conversion for matches in another timezone. We do not request the camera, microphone, contacts, photos, call log, SMS, or background location. We do not integrate an advertising SDK. You can read the full audit in our privacy policy.

Storage and offline behaviour
The app installs in roughly 42 MB on Android (Play Store) and 38 MB on iOS. Live scores require a network connection — there is no offline cache of live data, by design, because stale live data is worse than no data. Reading history is cached locally and persists for 30 days so the editorial recommendation engine works during brief network drops.
How updates work
We ship roughly one release per fortnight, with hotfix releases for score-engine bugs within hours of detection. On Android, Play Store auto-updates handle this in the background. On iOS, App Store auto-updates handle it. If you prefer manual updates, both stores have an "Updates" tab where you can see what's pending and trigger the install.
If the install fails
Three failure modes cover most cases: storage full (the app needs about 80 MB free during install), an OS version older than the minimum (Android 9 / iOS 14 — older devices will not see the listing), or a Play Store / App Store region restriction. For sideloaded APK installs, the failure is usually the "Install unknown apps" toggle being off — open Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps, find the browser or file manager you used, and toggle it on.
