The SportsAdda points system, explained in plain English.

Cricket points (T20 / ODI / Test)

Cricket uses a per-ball scoring model. A run scores 1 point. A boundary scores 4 points plus the run. A six scores 6 points plus the run. A wicket scores 25 points for bowlers, 8 points for fielders (catch, stumping, run-out). A maiden over scores 4 points. A fifty scores 4 bonus points; a hundred scores 8 bonus points; a double-hundred scores 16 bonus points. A strike rate above 170 (T20) or 140 (ODI) at the end of an innings scores 2 points; below 70 (T20) or 50 (ODI) loses 2 points. Captain picks multiply the player's points by 2x. Vice-captain picks multiply by 1.5x. You can change captain and vice-captain up until the toss of each match; after toss the picks lock. Substitutions are unlimited during the season window for your squad, but a swapped-in player's points count only from the swap time onward. For Test matches, the multipliers change. A century scores 16 bonus points (double-hundred scores 32). A five-wicket haul scores 16 bonus points. The strike-rate band is replaced by a runs-per-over band for batting (above 4.5 scores 2, below 2 loses 2) and an economy band for bowling (below 2 scores 4, above 4.5 loses 2).

Football points

Football uses a per-event scoring model. A goal scores 10 points for the goalscorer, 6 points for an assist. A clean sheet (no goals conceded in regulation) scores 4 points for defenders and goalkeepers, 1 point for midfielders. A save scores 2 points for the goalkeeper. A penalty miss or own goal loses 4 points. A yellow card loses 1 point; a red card loses 4 points and the player is suspended from your squad. Captain picks multiply the player's points by 2x; vice-captain by 1.5x. The full season window opens a week before the first match of the round and closes at kickoff of each fixture. For ISL matches, the clean-sheet point is doubled for defenders if the side wins by two or more goals. For Champions League knockout matches, the multiplier for captain picks is 2.5x instead of 2x — the platform commission reflects the higher variance, and we pass it through.

Kabaddi points

A successful raid scores 1 point per contact point, plus 1 bonus point for crossing the bonus line. A super raid (3+ contact points in a single raid) scores 4 bonus points. A successful tackle scores 2 points for the defender. A super tackle (tackling a raider with 2 or fewer defenders) scores 4 bonus points. An empty raid (no contact, no return) loses 1 point for the raider's team's fantasy score on that raid. Captain picks multiply by 2x; vice-captain by 1.5x. Substitution rules follow PKL's published player auction list — a swapped-in player's points count from swap time only. For the Women's Kabaddi League, the points table is identical except that super-raid and super-tackle bonus points are 6 (instead of 4) to reflect the longer average raid length in the women's format. The substitution window closes 30 minutes before each team's first match of the round.

Tennis points

Tennis uses a per-set scoring model. Winning a set scores 10 points. Winning a match scores 20 bonus points on top. A tiebreak win counts as a regular set win. A retirement mid-set scores 5 points to the player ahead at retirement, plus 20 bonus points to the match winner if the match is subsequently awarded. A double fault loses 1 point for the server. Captain picks multiply by 2x; vice-captain by 1.5x. The match scoring window opens 30 minutes before the scheduled start and locks at first serve. For doubles matches, the points are halved and awarded per player (i.e. each player on a winning pair gets 5 points for a set, not 10). For mixed doubles, the same halved rule applies. Captain and vice-captain multipliers

Captain and vice-captain picks multiply the player's raw points by 2x and 1.5x respectively. The multipliers are uniform across all four sports — there is no "super captain" or "triple captain" option in the standard contest format. The only way to increase the multiplier is to enter a paid entry in one of the partner operator's premium contests, which is a separate product with its own scoring rules (see the partner operator's terms).

Tie-breakers

When two teams finish on the same total, ties are broken in this order: (1) most captain picks that outscored their match's average, (2) most centuries / hat-tricks / super raids across the season window, (3) earliest submitted final squad. The full tie-break chain is in the contest terms on the in-app screen. For two-team league formats, the head-to-head result decides the tie. For round-robin formats, the team with the higher net run rate / xG differential / raid success differential wins. Points system FAQ

Where do the points numbers come from?

They are published in the contest terms inside the SportsAdda app. We update them at the start of each season and whenever the underlying scoring engine changes — the change-log is on the in-app help screen.

What happens if a player is dropped mid-match?

Substitutions are unlimited up to the season deadline. After that, if a player is ruled out before the toss, you can swap to a bench player; if the player is ruled out mid-match, their points up to that point stand.

Does SportsAdda take a cut of winnings?

SportsAdda does not take a cut. The platform fee is paid by the operator of the partner's fantasy product — not by SportsAdda — and is disclosed on the operator's terms page.

Are the points the same on iOS and Android?

Yes. The points engine is server-side; both platforms read the same numbers. If you see a discrepancy, the in-app report flow logs the calculation so the platform team can audit.

What about points for substitute appearances?

A player who comes on as a substitute scores points only from the moment they enter the field. Pre-match points (e.g. a goal scored while they were on the bench) don't count for your squad.
